Acupuncture and TCM

History of acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the main branch and tool of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Chinese Medicine includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, exercises like Qigong (Chi gong) or massage, and finally diet therapy.

Various sources have proposed that acupuncture dates back to anything from 3000BC to 1000BC.It evolved slowly and surely, being the main medicine it developed surgery, the equivalent of drugs in herbal medicine and much more.

It makes us a generalist most of the time, with a few issues of the body being more well known here and there, like painheadaches and migraine or insomnia for example.

Modern acupuncture

Acupuncture use a model of energy flow and channels inside deep or at the surface of the body to work. Hence why a point on the stomach can help the fingers or a point on the legs will stimulate the stomach. Chinese Medicine will rebalance the energy of yin and yang, cooling or heating, moving through blockages which is one of the cause of pain and strengthening weak channel or organs

With the added knowledge of muscles and nerves, it can do quite a lot for pain of all sorts.

Electro acupuncture

Similarly to a TENS machine, in acupuncture we can connect two needles with an electrical current coursing in between them. Comparatively, it goes through the deeper part of the body the needle is in, like a muscle or through nerves or nerve bundles.

It can be very useful to get rid of pain, chronic pain especially
